In collaboration with nhs.uk Intouch has devised an “added value” information service to support patients through the Choose and Book process.

The Intouch Patient Choice Information Service adds to the nhs.uk offering in the following key ways:-

a) more information about choose and book hospitals in line with what patients say they want to see
b) a different way of presenting the patient choice information with extra facilities to help patients make their choice
c) extra emphasis on equality of access including special facilities to help non-english speakers
d) multi-channel means of accessing the information about choose and book hospitals for both staff and patients
e) customisation support from Intouch to address local needs and situations

The overall Patient Choice Information Service objectives are:-

1. To ensure that the burden of information provision relating to patient choice is minimised for busy GPs and practice staff.

2. To make the service is so good that patients are satisfied first time round and do not revisit practice staff and PCAs for more and more clarification.
