Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust introduces digital resource management

Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust has chosen Intouch with Health (a VitalHub company) to support the digital transformation of its outpatient department with a centralised process to intelligently book and manage all clinic and meeting rooms efficiently, supporting the Trust to maximise the use of its resources.

“We’re really looking forward to managing our clinic and meeting rooms from one central point, having access to instant and real time availability and capacity to maximise the use of our resources.”

The Trust, which cares for the population in Harrogate and the local area as well as across North Yorkshire and Leeds, is deploying Intouch with Health’s Room and Resource Manager solution to optimise the utilisation of the Trust’s clinic and meeting rooms, whilst simultaneously improving communication lines.

Issie Macniven, Matron for Outpatients at Harrogate And District NHS Foundation Trust said: “We chose Room and Resource Manager as it provides the Trust with all the functionality that we need.

“We’re really looking forward to managing our clinic and meeting rooms from one central point, having access to instant and real time availability and capacity to maximise the use of our resources. We will also be able to forward plan and book adhoc clinics with the reassurance that the information is correct, with excellent communication lines between all parties involved.”

Room and Resource Manager provides hospital staff with instant access to real-time data including room availability, the status of a meeting room and resource needs, enabling resources to be allocated and booked in a timely and efficient manner. It also captures resource needs and allows relevant resources to be allocated and booked in a timely way, maximising the use of assets.

The Trust’s staff will be able to easily search the system for available rooms and suitable facilities and resources.  A calendar highlights available slots automatically and encompasses a dialogue box for staff to instantly add meeting details. A notification can also be sent within the system, and highlight to the organiser, of any amendments and colour coded alerts inform staff of meeting room status in real-time.

David Warburton, Regional Sales Director at Intouch with Health said: “Safely managing the patient journey in the delivery of patient care has never been more important.  Balancing the needs of the clinicians as they carry out essential face-to-face consultations against the operational needs of the hospital to manage its resources effectively is critical.

“We are proud to be supporting Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust with this digital transformation project which will improve the experience for both patients and hospital staff alike.”
