Digital Health that’s 'ready to go global'

The Department for International Trade’s UK Digital Health Playbook, ‘The First 100 Companies’, showcases the "best of British talent in Digital Health that’s ready to go global".

The First 100 list features UK companies with a proven track record of benefiting the lives of healthcare professionals and patients in the NHS and private health sector. The named include companies which have underpinned the country’s response to COVID-19, and others whose technology can address the issues facing healthcare systems across the globe.

“The First 100 articulates the exportable strengths that the UK has in health tech and showcases those that stand out for being tried and tested and most importantly, making a difference across one of the most complex health systems in the world.”

Organisations including Intouch with Health and Transforming Systems (also a VitalHub company) have been chosen following a rigorous vetting process, which assessed the global uniqueness of each organisation’s innovation and solution offering, responsiveness, a track record of collaboration, success within the NHS, and the ability and commitment to export and actively seek international expansion.

Unlocking challenges facing global healthcare

When announcing the playbook on LinkedIn, Dr Mike Short CBE, Chief Scientific Advisor at the Department for International Trade (DIT) said:

“Digital Health is rightly unlocking challenges facing global healthcare. UK companies are at the heart of technologies that offer accessible, affordable, and sustainable care. We are promoting British innovators in digital health who are ready to go global and link it with that ever-expanding worldwide opportunity.

“Promoting digital health to overseas buyers and creating business opportunities with our teams in 96 markets around the world. We hope through the First 100, we will reach out to those who are not just leaders in their field, but those willing to find new frontiers to make an impact in building the basis for the healthcare of the future: personalised, digital by default and truly patient centric.
